My Hero Academia 187 Review: Endeavour: Year One

Boku no Hero Academia, Chapter 187: TodoroKILL vs Noumu: High End

Bit of an interesting chapter, this one. Last week I didn't quite have the time or energy to review the MHA chapter (if you hadn't guessed already, a significant amount of this month's material have been prepared beforehand), but this is an interesting one. We get a bit more of the Todoroki family, with his elder siblings Natsuo and Fuyumi talking to their mother, discussing about Shoto and Endeavour. The kids, despite their happier demeanour, don't think much of Endeavour and his eugenics program, and while the mom's arguably the one that suffered the worst from it all, she has some... nice things to say about Endeavour? Especially after he left a flower behind in her room? We're definitely building up an Endeavour redemption arc, but we'll see if this is actually something that's going to go well.
Endeavour himself, meanwhile, spends the rest of the chapter fighting the High-end Noumu, who can actually talk and we get a fair amount of body horror. New-Noumu even has a very cool... scarecrow-esque shadow face. Endeavour unleashes this series of fire strings to attempt to capture the Noumu, but the Noumu instead catches him and swings him around to quite literally cut a building apart. It's mostly a cool action scene, and we get to see Hawks's real power -- it's not just wings, it's controlling the specific feathers in the wings to save people. It's a neat little action scene with lots of great moments -- I just don't really end up finding much to talk about here.
