Anime & Manga Reviews

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War

The long-awaited and high-production-quality adaptation of Bleach's final saga, which was infamously left un-adapted for nearly a decade after the anime's end. This also fixes a lot of the problems that the rushed ending has, as Ichigo and his allies wage war against the invasion of the Quincy Vandenreich.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure:

JOOOOOOOO JOO!
The winner of our anime episode poll by a landslide, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is the long-awaited anime adaptation of the long-running, multi-part manga. After receiving several relatively lackluster movie adaptations in the past, this anime is a labour of love as practically every insane aspect of the manga is replicated exhaustively in the anime. Focusing on the strange adventures of the Joestar family, the series is divided into different "Parts" which feature in different time periods and starring different protagonists and villains, as well as storytelling methods.

SEASON ONE [Parts 1-2]
Part 1: Phantom Blood
Part 2: Battle Tendency (Sento Choryu)
SEASON TWO: Part 3: Stardust Crusaders

Episodes 25 through 48 are marketed and released as a separate "half-season", known as "Stardust Crusaders: Battle in Egypt".
STAND Proud.

SEASON THREE: Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable (Diamond wa kudakenai)
BREAK DOWN! (break down!)

SEASON FOUR: Part 5: Vento Aureo (Ogon no Kaze / Golden Wind)
Fighting GOLD

SEASON FIVE: Part 6: Stone Ocean

Spin-off Anime: Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan

This is a per-season review of the anime and my commentary as I rewatch some old stories in animated form.

Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji - Ultimate Survivor:

An anime about a compulsive gambler who finds himself thrust into a series of competition that truly redefines 'high-stakes gambling', Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor was recommended to me by one of the readers of the blog and it's a very tense and fast-paced series with particularly great writing.

Season 1:
Season 2: Kaiji: Against All Rules (a.k.a. Maverick Arc)

      Anime Movies

Sometimes, I review Pokemon and One Piece movies! Pokemon movies are technically in canon with the anime, although the anime continuity is kind of bizarre at times so yeah.

      Manga Tag List

It's a bit too much to make a page listing every single Manga Review article I've ever done, but thankfully tags are a thing. I'm not actively reviewing anything other than One Piece at the moment, however. (Where did the Hunter x Hunter anime episode reviews go? Click here.)
