Boku no Hero Academia, Chapter 141: The Cleansing Salvo, Part II
If I had to summarize this chapter, it's "Suneater gets thrashed by the villains, then turns the table on them." And honestly, that's all that happened. We got a couple of repetition for Suneater's benefit on how the villains are brainwashed by Overhaul after they were thrown away by society. We've got the introduction of Tabe's (a.k.a. Scarecrow) ability, which is the ability to chomp down onto anything and instantly digest them.
But god damn if the manga didn't make it look awesome. Just look at that second/third page where Suneater unleashes his Chimera Kraken! That is the epitome of awesome action art. There are a couple of amazing art pieces here and there too -- the final action panel when Suneater smashes the crystal dude onto Tabe; the panel when Tabe eats Suneater's octopus arm; the panel when Suneater creates a gigantic chicken leg combined with crystals to grab crystal dude's face....
And as usual, the show's unique powers allow for some really unique interactions. There's the whole explanation on how Tabe's powers work. There's Suneater's analysis on how to beat everyone. There's Suneater eating the crystal pieces to manifest some of his own. There's Suneater manifesting poison to feed to Tabe. There's Thief stealing Suneater's poisoned octopus arm. There's also how Suneater manages to break through their coordinated teamwork, which is to assume that their lauded camaraderie means that they won't attack each other, so he basically disables Tabe's chomping ability by shoving something he won't chomp in front of him. That's unexpectedly brutal, but shit, Suneater won, and it's freaking awesome.
Not much to talk about, but definitely an awesome, intense and awesome action piece. It's always amazing when a writer actually puts in a great amount of effort into making an action scene be fast-paced but still relatively cerebral, as well as sneaking in those scenes when Suneater is eating those crystals.
