Toriko 365 Review: Lupa Capitolina

Toriko, Chapter 365: The Wolf Cub

This chapter is basically just 'Jirou is a motherfucking badass'. We get him withstand two direct blows to a head whose aftermaths created explosions. We get this muscleman Blue Nitro (damn if I'm going to remember any of their names) and hit him with this 'Mantle Shot' which blew up like probably a continent or something -- the Nitro note that it is enough to break the Earth's mantle. But Jirou used knocking on himself, and, well, simply withstands the blast. He apparently just hasn't gotten all his seals released, which is awesome. The Nitro engage in a bit of speculation. Is Jirou a demon? No, he's a human. Just one that's insanely, over-the-top powerful.

And, yes, 'I used to eat lizards all the time' meant that he ate Nitro meat. Since he was a baby. Because Jirou, badass motherfucker that he is, was raised by Guinness the Wolf King, who fed him Nitro meat. Well, that didn't come out of nowhere as Starjun-Toriko brother, as Jirou reminds us in this very chapter that it has been foreshadowed by the Guinness Punch weapon thing he used while fighting Joie... granted we all thought that it was because Jirou fought Guinness, but a foreshadowing is still foreshadowing.

The Guinness Punch is like this wave that just undulates like a serpent, but Setsuno has became this insane-looking demonic figure that's still a little old woman... who's protecting the human world with a forcefield. Because yeah why not. It deflects Jirou's punch, while Jirou himself finally pops the last seal and actually stops looking like a hideous monster and just looks like a younger, handsomer version of himself.

Man, Jirou's awesome. Get Acacia the fuck away from him.
