Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 210: Emotional Maelstrom
We're still continuing the flashback sequence, with Reduciel trying to get Nerobasta to summon this 'Mael' fellow. Nerobasta is shaken out of her Gowtherification to see that Gowther and Merascylla are transforming the gateway to the heavens into this big gross weird mouth-gate to the underworld made out of screaming faces that looked like the combination of what would happen if Gluttony and Envy from Full Metal Alchemist did a fusion dance.
Only the soldiers are left around the base and Nerobasta, cowardly little shit that she is, commands all the troops (who are celebrating over the fact that the huge-ass demon energy has disappeared) to fight the two Commandments who totally aren't battle-types. Man, Nerobasta, I'm so glad you're dead in the present day. Also Gerharde bonds with Law, which sounds like your average 'parallel with the past' story to be similar to Ban/Elaine. Except nope, Law jumps up next to a giant ready to defend the gate and guts his carotid.
And honestly, right until the blood comes out I thought Law was just showing off as 'bad boy' anime characters are wont to. He's not the only traitor, as some others also show up stabbing people and while they're not demons, their objectives are the same -- wipe out Stigma.
Dolor-Diane and Gloxinia-King return back to... do something. They do a recap of 'oh my god the situation for Meliodas and Dolor and Gloxinia is so complex' which really felt shoehorned in my face. Also apparently King has only realized now that Meliodas isn't evil just because he's a demon... what the literal fuck, King? I seriously thought you were over this nonsense even before the timeskip. Gowther pops up and whacks his head with Kingxinia, and Gowther does his weird emotionless-robot-trying-to-show-character-quirks Gowther thing. And King apparently notes that this isn't Gowther? I guess the two of them just don't know that Gowther used to be a Commandment?
Well, at least we're learning something about Gowther instead of just going on and on about these things that have already happened in the past. Honestly, I don't care about Law, or Nerobasta, but finding out more about Gowther is definitely something I want.
I clicked Others and was wondering if you'd consider reviewing the new season of Samurai Jack.
ReplyDeleteThat would be difficult considering I've never watched any episode of Samurai Jack before, so I'll have a lot of catching up to do. Maybe in the future. Heard that it's really good from my friends who are fans of the franchise, though.
