Nanatsu no Taizai 259 Review: War

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 259: War-Torn Britannia

Well, we wanted a war chapter, and this is what we got! It's pretty neat, with it starting off with a bunch of lesser characters showing off their powers. Guila and Howser get to show off their explosion and tornado skills respectively, and then we get to see Deathpierce and the rest of the Azure Sky dudes go all crazy, ignoring their injuries and pain and just singing praise to lord Ludoshel and unleashing mighty attacks that humans should not be able to unleash at the cost of themselves getting super injured.

And then, of course, Diane zooms in on a gigantic wave of dirt, smashing an army of demons, and using Heavy Metal to deflect a bunch of beam attacks from an Albion, before bashing its head in with her big-ass hammer. We also get King and Chastiefol ripping apart another Albion in its blade form. Sariel and Tamriel then unleash Omega Ark on the demons.

And then we check in on Derriere and Monspiet (or Derieri and Monspeet, according to official translations). They talk about how they're going to return their commandments to Zeldoris so they can continue living a peaceful life and so that they and the village would be spared... but, of course, Estarossa shows up, ready to murder the two of them to get their commandments because, y'konw, Estarossa is kind of a dick. So next chapter's going to be Estarossa versus Derieri and Monspeet, which I'm not really sure I'm all that excited for. Like Merascylla before them, it's not going to be the most exciting of things... but I guess the whole tragedy behind seeing these two characters that just want a life of peace end up possibly murdered because Estarossa's a dick. I dunno. We'll see. Overall, not a particularly eventful chapter, but one with lots of neat action scenes.
