Teen Titans S02E04 Review: Don't Mess With People Online

Teen Titans, Season 2, Episode 4: Only Human

In this episode, Cyborg beats another person online in a Tekken/Mortal Combat style game, causing said person, the supervillain robot Atlas, to show up in person to beat Cyborg up. We then have Atlas kidnap the other Titans in force bubbles, and then have Cyborg battle Atlas and being forced to go over 100% with the parts of him that is human. Meanwhile, Atlas' horrible treatment of his pit stop buddy Spike ends up losing Spike's help during the final battle.

It's a bit of a dud, really, and it's not as impressive as any of the 'put a Titan in the spotlight' episodes. Atlas is a very dull villain both in quirkiness and design, and while it's cool to see Cyborg overcoming his limitations, it's still pretty stretched out over twenty minutes, with not really enough material to sell that this needed to be this long.

Again, I don't really have that much to say about this episode. I dunno. I just don't really care about it that much.

DC Easter Eggs Corner:
  • There is a Superman villain named Atlas who's just a big strong dude who got his powers from some weird magic, but I'm 100% sure that Atlas and this Atlas has nothing in common beyond their name.
