Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 226: Wild
Well, it turns out that Zeldoris was just a red herring after all, and it's an illusion created by Merascylla (I know it's spelled Melascula, but that's so ugly to write). We get a brief introdump about a dimensional barrier that destroys anything that attempts to enter Camelot, whose position the cast sees when debris from Meliodas's blast slams into the wall.
I'm not sure where Merascylla got such an insane power-up from, but she's able to trap Meliodas in a dark coccoon and is siphoning out his rage and negative emotions, taunting him with Elizabeth's death and all that while skeletons rampage outside against Meliodas's friends. The other sins, obviously, have no real problems fighting the skeletons, right until Merascylla adds another wrinkle -- every negative emotion within Meliodas is transferred as power-up ot the skeletons, and while they're not super-powerful right now (all they beat up is Hawk) it sets up a little Meliodas's power against the Seven Sins thing going on.
We also get a brief confirmation that every time Meliodas dies, the demon king strips some of his emotions before reviving him. It's a bit strange why even bother with this immortality curse at all, mind you, but at least we're getting reasons as to why Meliodas is able to die a couple of chapters ago.
Overall a decent chapter. I'm still unconvinced we needed a repeat of Merascylla's fight of all people, but at least it's still interesting enough.
