Nanatsu no Taizai 227 Review: Seven Sins Strongkt

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 227: Clash Clash Clash

Again, going to be shorter. Not feeling very well. Mostly it's a chapter that shows the Seven Sins being super-badasses, briefly being overwhelmed by the hate skeletons before showing off their powers. King does a big-ass demon-flower thing, Diane does a big rock avalanche, and Escanor, well... he's been the punchline for so many chapters that he just goes all "acting calm and composed... is a privilege of the mighty."

Merascylla freaks out a little before putting all the negative energy into a single skeleton, and it's a bit of a cool scene where the skeleton's oh-so-scary before it explodes because, shit, a single skeleton can't contain Meliodas's godlike (or demon-king-like) power. Merascylla's reaction is hilarious.

And then Merascylla sends the mass of negative emotions (which apparently has to go somewhere) and it tries to possess someone... and it picks Diane, whose eyes turn bloodshot and cries blood in a very, very creepy whole-page panel. God, that panel's going to haunt my dreams tonight -- the rest of the chapter is such fun action but that was a pretty well-done bit to show how strong the Sins are while still having an excuse to make Merascylla a threat. Oh, and Elaine and Elizabeth want to try to help. Overall a pretty cool chapter, honestly, and a lot more fun than I thought the hate skeleton stuff was going to be.

Fairy Tail review's slightly delayed. It's a mammoth 50-page bullshit and it's the last chapter so I'm going to make it count.
