Nanatsu no Taizai 250 Review: Flesh Golems

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 250: Composition

More of a transitional chapter, to be honest. After the huge revelation that Merlin is actually working together with Ruedeciel, she just teleports away and lets Zeldoris go direct his anger at Ruedeciel with a huge darkness pillar (that will totally do nothing, but at least looks cool). Meanwhile, of course, Gilthunder, Dreyfus and Hendricksen are all still shell-shocked that Ruedeciel has taken over Margaret's body, and we get an ominous zoom-in into Hendricksen's face. And, well, both of them have unpleasant memories with being possessed by demons, right? It's a neat little nod to these characters and how they've been shoved to the side. I've always thought that this particular characters are sort of shoved to the side and the buildup to Gilthunder being freed from psycho yandere witch is still  pretty bad, but hopefully we're going to get into something particularly decent.

We get a couple of scenes of the Sins trying to evacuate people (including a cool shot of Merlin just teleporting everyone away from a giant angry flower monster). We get Elizabeth reuniting with the Sins, and her face got sliced by a pair of flying-rabbit flesh golems that Chandler ripped out of his cheeks. For a moment the art looked like the upper half of Elizabeth's head was sliced off, but it's apparently just a scar. A bit of a boo in that fake-out.

The rest of the chapter is just a bit of a recap and a reaffirmation of Elizabeth's conviction. It's not the best chapter, but it's a decent one, I guess.
