My Hero Academia, Chapter 122: The Season of Encounters
A bit of a simpler chapter, this one, so I probably won't be talking about it a whole lot. We get to see a couple of new characters (including Hound Dog-sensei's absolutely amazing speech in the beginning) and mostly Midoriya and Bakugou are kind of shut out from all that is happening -- a lot of teachers like Aizawa, Vlad and Hound Dog talk about the seriousness of unauthorized fighting, and they're not even allowed to enter class -- for such career-obsessed people like Bakugou and Midoriya, that's probably the biggest punishment of all.
There's a bit more talk about the hero internships and how they relate to the sports festival search for sponsorships and whatnot. Basically it's a more formalized training session similar to the field training with senior heroes, and are not managed by the campus but by the students themselves, and they need the provisional licenses to participate in those kind of internships. It was a bit introdump-y, and Uraraka randomly freaking out is something that I find absolutely odd, but eh.
We get some scenes of Midoriya reflecting how missing a single day of lessons have made him kind of... clueless as to what's going on, as well as general thoughts on improving his Shoot Style or whatever. Then suddenly this... very oddly-drawn face pops up in the wall. It's no so much oddly drawn as it is just so jarring, like it came out of an Archie comic or something instead of a manga, and the rather expressionless eyes make him look sinister. Add that to the fact that he's very strongly hinted to be the kid from last chapter that One For All is probably supposed to go to, and he just jokes around with a very freaked-out Midoriya for a bit before plooping out. He's got phasing powers, I guess?
After Midoriya and Bakugou's class arrest is over, Aizawa brings in the Big Three, a group of the three best third-year students of U.A. Their leader is, of course, the Archie-looking fellow that met Midoriya before. Also among their ranks is a pretty long-haired girl and a cool emo dude.
Not much to say beyond that, really. Just introductions, some slower storytelling and all that.
