Nanatsu no Taizai 203 Review: Bait

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 203: Rueduciel's Plan

We continue the flashback arc with some talks about how the Ten Commandments and a group of demons called the Six Black Knights are basically rampaging, but the members of Stigma outnumber them. We get a conversation with Law and Meliodas about how strange it is for a demon to be fighting alongside their alliance, but Law's all nice and shit to Meliodas.

We get a heated conversation between Elizabeth and Rueduciel (Nerobasta's whole existence is apparently just to get shot down whenever she opens her mouth), because Elizabeth is against freaking genocide, while Rueduciel notes that this was the plan from the beginning. Rueduciel has a pretty creepy moment when she leans down in front of Elizabeth and talks about how the demon clan is the embodiment of trash and insects and it's not part of their decree to consider the demons the same class of 'life' as every other race. She tells Elizabeth in no uncertain means that there are far better partners for her than Meliodas.

We get Diane-in-Dolor practicing and training with some of the giant soldiers there, while King-in-Gloxinia makes it clear that the archangel they saw is individually stronger than the ten commandments. Also, Gerhalt (apparently officially parsed as Gerheade?) shows up and talks to King-in-Gloxinia very familiarly... and we get the revelation that Gerheade isn't Gloxinia's lover, but rather his sister. Although back then she was super sweet and nice, not at all like the Gerheade of the present.

King asks Gerheade about the huge-ass magical presence, and while it's supposedly a barrier, it's actually live bait. Prisoners, to bait out the larger soldiers. And we get a pretty cool splash page of Derriere, Monspiet, Merascylla, Galan and that one dude who we saw last chapter leading a huge host of demons... so I guess we'll get to see some more fights between our heroes and the Ten Commandments in the past.
