Nanatsu no Taizai 156 Review: Attack of the Clones

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 156: Labyrinth Exploration Challenge

Absolutely nothing of importance really happened in this chapter, and I honestly debated whether to even make a review at all. Basically, a memory-less Diane meet up with Elizabeth and Hawk. Diane is all tsundere. Elizabeth and Hawk is all helpful and shit and Diane is all touched and shit. They help each other out against some of the totally non-threat traps in the labyrinth of fillers.

I get it, the manga is obligated to follow up on the silly 'Diane loses her memories' plot twist they did before, itself a rather unnecessary and uninspired plot point to choose in the face of so many other interesting things happening. Hell, if the point was to have Gowther see if a memory-less Diane could still be friends with the others after getting her memories wiped, then let the damn plot play over three or four chapters and now drawn out like this. Or at least done in something that doesn't even pretend that it isn't filler.

Oh, joy, they have to fight a bunch of Meliodas clones. I'm sure they will totally be relevant. Get to the fighting tournament already! I honestly cannot imagine why they couldn't have had all this banal 'character development' (in the roughest definition of the phrase) thrown in during the fighting tournament or the Balor/Squid Girl fights.
