Toriko 354 Review: The Wolf King Takes A Piss

Toriko, Chapter 354: One Step of the Wolf King

Yep, more insanity. It's relatively not as insane as the previous chapter where, well, the rest of the Eight Kings are just rampaging around with their insane physical abilities, and the lack of Bambina certainly is regrettable. Bambina is awesome. But what we do get is Toriko, Starjun and Guinness fighting that one Neo meatball.

Toriko and Starjun's appetite demons all immediately materialize, with Toriko's demon actually talking back to him and Starjun's cyclopean eye materializing in the coolest way imaginable. They do this combination attack of Fire Jet Fork that launches the meatball into the sky, and Toriko recognizes how terrifying the opponent must be for his appetite demon to appear spontaneously. The meatball manages to grapple back onto the Earth with some flesh-extension things to withstand the Fire Jet Fork that eventually flies into space alone. Mr. Meatball tries to bungee back and eat Toriko and Starjun... but Guinness does something. He, like, sniffs and... something gets drained from the meatball... it's represented by the colour disappearing from it, but as anything in Toriko, it's not clear what that is. And considering this is Guinness, who's apparently equal if not stronger with the insane dudes we saw before... yeah.

Guinness than stomps down on the meatball, which, well, naturally sends waves through the Earth itself. Toriko digs his Fork and Knife to hold himself into place, but even then he was blown back hundreds of kilometers away. Starjun's third eye apparently lets him do this skill called Gourmet Clairvoyance which allows him to lock onto any enemy, anywhere in the world, and it spies upon the Wolf King... taking a piss. Because he's a dog. Literally the second after pissing, Guinness just Shunpo's there no trouble at all, hundreds of kilometers away... and Starjun's just fallen down, all drained of colour. Seconds later, Toriko's out as well. Yeah -- these two aren't a match for the Battle Wolf King.

Now the question is... what exactly is Guinness' ability, and does it have anything with Toriko's hair colour? We know his blue hair colour isn't natural and all that, so maybe getting everything turned white means something? I still find Toriko/Starjun/Guinness to be the least interesting among the fights taking place right now, but that only speaks volumes at how highly I regard the likes of Midora, Joie and Jirou.
