Nanatsu no Taizai 237 Review: Kid Merlin

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 237: The Pacifier Demon

Basically a good chunk of this chapter's just setting up how powerful Chandler is. He can counterspell Perfect Cube. He can reflect Merlin's attack back at her with Full Counter. He shrinks down Diane into Thumbelina size. He brings in the darkness with him so Escanor can't even transform. He summons meteors down from the night sky (the artwork for the meteor storm is pretty on point, by the way). He's being extremely calm and collected about all this, letting everyone make their moves and stuff, but I kind of feel that it's going to be a repeat of Galan's initial introduction in the manga. Pretty cool stuff, if a little repetitive.

We get to learn that Merlin's true form is actually a little child, and Chandler recognizes him, once more, as Belialuin's daughter. That's... interesting. Not quite sure what to really make out of this. We do know that all the members of the Seven Sins are of different races, and so far Escanor and Merlin are the mysterious ones. Is Belialuin a demon? A goddess? Something else?
Gowther, apparently having recovered all the memories of the other Gowther, is now able to give some introdumps. That's cool. The chapter ends with King, Gowther and... Hawk for some reason... creating a gigantic arrow with the combination of their powers, something I'm sure won't have any effect considering how the chapter's hyping Chandler up.
