Nanatsu no Taizai 159 Review: Bromance

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 159: No Need For Words

The first half of this chapter is mostly pointless fluff. We get some Arthur backstory, we get a pointless two-page spread of Meliodas and Elizabeth feeling each other across a big wall, we get Elizabeth's druid healing skill improving, we get Arthur and Meliodas discovering Ban's awesome cooking...

And the latter half is basically just a bromance and catch-up thing. Ban and Meliodas go through the same fun routine that they did when they first met -- Fairy Tail, take note, this is how you do a funny repetition of something you did before, when it actually makes sense in the story, not repeat your one-note gags ad nauseam. Anyway, Ban catches Meliodas up about Elaine and Escanor, and it's mighty convenient that Escanor sends him to Vaizel of all places. In any case, though, despite this chapter being mostly uneventful, it got a nice heartwarming forgiveness and make-up between Ban and Meliodas. And we're one step closer to having that two-page spread of all seven sins assembled where they can call themselves "we're the Seven Deadly Sins" while there's only five of them or something.

Bring on the demon fights already though. This is honestly getting quite boring.
