Nanatsu no Taizai 160 Review: Bleach Pace

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 160: Go, Breakthrough

Yeah, they took an entire chapter for Ban and Meliodas to break that fucking wall. Yes, it's regenerative and the art of the two of them being all crazy-looking is cool and it's built up and all that... except that, y'know, considering the past three or four chapters have been nothing but 'eh, labyrinth filler' this chapter ends up really not doing much. Honestly it's like a chapter of Bleach, and this doesn't even have two characters fighting.

There's a bit of a catch-up, a bit of some sappy friendship speech from Meliodas to Arthur, two-page splashes that are not justified at all... but we get confirmation that, yes, Escanor is around somewhere in the maze, while Elaine, Jericho and King are hanging around together. Meliodas and Ban punch straight to the goal where all the nameless fighters, Matrona, Threader and Hendricksen are already around, while up top are the two demons.

Next chapter seems to be shaping up to be some kind of a fighting tournament, though, so at least this bout of filler is done with.
