Nanatsu no Taizai 198 Review: Totally not a Cock

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 198: The Giant and the Fairy

Apparently King and Diane are hiding in the fairy lands protected by a magic force field or some shit like that. Along with them are Matrona's family and the other fairies... and we get some wholly unnecessary moments of Diane and King being naked and getting into weird situations. And King just shouting, asking why it won't grow, while looking downwards... come on, now. He's talking about his wings, but can you literally think of anything else but his cock? That's a fun bit.

There's a lot of boring exposition, the fairies dance... and then Gloxinia randomly shows up to kiss Gerhardt... and apparently not even Gerhardt knows what's going on when King and Diane disappear. Now they seem to have been kidnapped to talk to be talked to, so I highly doubt we're going to get King/Diane vs Gloxinia/Dolor again, because it'd be an irritatingly stupidly simple set-up if it was. So yeah some kind of a deal, maybe? An honourable match, or gathering allies to help fight the goddess clan or something like that. I dunno.

King dick jokes make the chapter, that's for sure. Otherwise, not a very eventful chapter. Diane and King don't generally lend to interesting stories, just exciting visuals.

  1. Part of me wonders if this is what they were building up to with Gowther's wiping away Diane's memories (hell, the reason Diane might not have got them back could be because Gowther's power is demonic-based rather then spell-based) - if Gloxinia is going to offer King a deal to either restore Diane's mind or make her how he wants her to be. Granted, that's a pretty lame climax to that plot-thread in my opinion, but it wouldn't surprise me since that's one of the things that's been dragging on for a bit.

    1. I dunno, the Gowther-memory arc has always felt like a misstep and something that's barely relevant after the big "OMG amnesia" nonsense. It basically turned King broody and Diane from a fun supporting character to a weak shadow of her normal self, and it's not a change that I've been okay with.

I dunno, though. We know so little about the Commandments and the fact that they're all apparently defeated just like that (except maybe Zeldris and Estarossa) is honestly more than a bit grating.
