Nanatsu no Taizai 200 Review: The Goddess

Nanatsu no Taizai, Chapter 200: Memories of the Holy War

What a very... slow chapter. We get some talk about how Gloxinia and Dolor still want what's best for their races and they're trying to see if they made the right decision defecting again, because they used to fight the Demon King and whatnot. We get a long, long scene of Diane and King going 'I'll do it but it's dangerous for you' and Dolor and Gloxinia kind of fooling around for a bit.

Then the real meat of the story really only takes place in the last four or five pages, where King and Diane find themselves transferred into the memories of Dolor and Gloxinia, walking around what appears to be the two Commandments' memories and meeting up with Past!Meliodas who's dressed up in... fancy looking clothes. Elizabeth shows up and we get the grand reveal that she's a goddess, complete with wings. So despite all the buildup that the goddess clan are selfish bastards who aren't as nice as their angelic status might imply, we have confirmation that at least one of them is.

Now is this Elizabeth the same one as Liz, or yet another prior incarnation... in any case her being a goddess might explain Meliodas's defection, Dolor and Gloxinia joining the Ten Commandments, as well as Elizabeth being reincarnated multiple times.

It's just that, wow, that should've been like the first page of this chapter instead of the last. I mean, the pacing is still better than say Fairy Tail, but man these last two chapters of Taizai really felt sparse content-wise.
